The Best Resources to Learn Social Media

Where To Get Started

best-resources-to-learn-social-media

With so many blogs, gurus, and online academies, getting started in social media can be daunting. The good news is, once you find your favorite resources, there are tools like RSS feeds, bookmarks, and read later apps like Pocket that can help you manage the content overflow.

Make It Your Own

When people ask me where to get started, I have a few resources that I continue to find provide value to my efforts, especially when it comes to content marketing. Sometimes I use the resources outright, but I usually combine a little of this one and that one into a special production for whatever project I'm making it for.

The Best Resources to Learn Social Media

Here, I share where I got started. Please see the best resources to learn social media below.

Marketer Marisa Pinterest

My Pinterest account has become a curated hub of the most useful articles I have found about every subject related to digital marketing, social media, entrepreneurship, and #bizlife goodness you could want. Check out boards like Free Tools & Great Resources, Analytics, Metrics, & KPI, and SEO-h-My.

Hubspot

Hubspot is an inbound marketing and sales platform that helps companies attract visitors, convert leads, and close customers, and their blogs are some of my favorite. They offer several free, downloadable templates and spreadsheets about both marketing and sales.

Also worth noting is Hubspot Academy, which offers certification, documentation, and training programs to help people understand how HubSpot and Inbound work. Get your Inbound Certification here. (I did!)

The Content Strategist by Contently

Contently is a content solutions agency that has an incredible blog called The Content Strategist and newsletter full of useful, actionable advice. I'm not one for a lot of fluff, so they way they break down timely advice in an easy-to-follow manner is key to staying in-the-know. Download their toolkits and templates to start to develop your arsenal.

Social Media Examiner

Detailed blog posts, a couple of podcasts, and a hugely attended conference? These people are doing something right. It seems like every social media marketer knows who Social Media Examiner is. This was one of the first blogs I started following and has continued to keep me on track. I highly recommend signing up for their updates and join over half a million other social media marketers.
